CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Corporate responsibility starts with SOFTLINE’s value system and a principled approach to doing business. This means operating in ways that, at a minimum, meet fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. SOFTLINE enacts the same values and principles wherever we are present, and we know that good practices in one area do not offset harm in another. By incorporating the UN sustainable development goals into strategies, policies and procedures, and establishing a culture of integrity, SOFTLINE is not only upholding the basic responsibilities to people and planet, but also setting the stage for long-term success.

MATERIALS

Local sourcing of materials is an essential philosophy at SOFTLINE. The majority of the materials and components are sourced from established manufacturers in Europe – ensuring traceability, high quality and the lowest possible environmental impact.

RECYCLING

The majority of the SOFTLINE furniture has removable covers that allow for easy cleaning or changing. New covers and spare parts can be bought to prolong the life of the furniture, minimizing the environmental impact over time. When the lifecycle of the furniture is complete, the simple disassembly process makes it easy to recycle the individual materials and to give them new life.

CERTIFICATIONS

Many SOFTLINE components and furniture are certified according to several internationally renowned standards – as well as meeting country-specific legal requirements. You can always request a report for your market. STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world’s best-known labels and indicates that textiles are tested for harmful substances. The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® label is your guarantee that the foam and fabrics used in SOFTLINE furniture are tested and meet the OEKO-TEX® requirements. CertiPUR™ is a registered certification label created to protect the health of consumers and the environment. The certification covers various restrictions relating to content, migration and emission of a number of specific substances. The foam used in SOFTLINE furniture is certified and has undergone testing and analysis in order to make sure that the foam meets the strict quality requirements of the certification. FSC® certified wood is sourced from sustainable forests with responsible management. With the FSC™ system, SOFTLINE is able to identify and purchase wood for the furniture production from well-managed forests.

QUALITY AND SAFETY

When we create a new design, all stages of the product cycle are considered in order to meet our high quality standards on every level. We always ensure that our products are durable and safe to use, and when relevant for the product and the construction of the furniture, we ensure that we meet the European Standard EN 16139. The majority of SOFTLINE products are tested according to various international standards regarding strength, durability and safety. All components used at the SOFTLINE production site are tested and meet the REACH compliance. Furthermore, SOFTLINE makes sure to optimize and upgrade materials, and we are constantly researching the field of sustainable materials and integrating them into the production.
